If we are to believe Ram Gopal Varma, his Gabbar will be more scary than the original in the Bollywood mega hit, Sholay. He plans to present Amitabh Bachchan as a real scary character, enough to whack the daylights out of the audiences. The new Gabbar may actually have mothers warning their kids: “so jaa nahin to Gabbar aa jayega.” Big B says that in fact he wanted to play Gabbar in the original Sholay, and had even discussed it with producer-director Ramesh Sippy. He struck a warm friendship with Amjad Khan during the shooting, and later, the pair went on to act together in a number of movies. It will be interesting to see if the mega star will be able to add a new dimension to the legendary character.
